The suspects used another key and made away with the said tricycle when the driver went to charge his phone.
A 21-year-old woman, Salma Haruna and her lover have been arrested for allegedly snatching a tricycle in Taura Local Government Area of the state.
This is according to the Spokesperson of the command, SP Shi'isu Lawan Adam in a statement on Monday, July 4, 2025.
Adam said the suspects hired a tricyclist from Kano to Jigawa, upon arriving at their destination, the suspects used another key and made away with the said tricycle when the driver went to charge his phone.
“On 1st August 2025, following credible intelligence, the Command intercepted and arrested suspected tricycle snatchers in Taura town, shortly after they committed the crime in Garki town, neighboring Divisions were alerted who conducted stop and search and the suspect was intercepted at Taura LGA,” the statement read.
"The stolen tricycle was recovered alongside other incriminating items used during the commission of the offense, including a master key, rope, and intoxicated substances.
"On investigation, the suspect revealed that he and his lady, chartered a Keke Napep from Kano State to Garki Market, Jigawa State.
"On reaching their destination, the tricyclist went and plugged in his phone. Before his arrival, they used another key and made away with the said tricycle.
“The suspects, identified as one Nazifi Ahmed 'm' of Maje village, Taura LGA and one Salma Haruna (AKA mami) 'f' age 21yrs of Hotoro Quarters, Kano State, remains in custody and will soon face the full wrath of the law.”
