A 25-year-old man from the Arab town of Baqa al-Gharbiyye in Israel has been arrested for allegedly working with Iranian intelligence and taking money to do tasks for them.
Israel Police and the Shin Bet, the country's security agency, said the suspect is Mohammed Pahami Mohammed Halaf, an Israeli citizen.
He was arrested in recent weeks.
They said he talked to a hostile group online and did jobs for them under their direction in exchange for payment.
The agencies said this is another case of Iran trying to recruit Israeli citizens to carry out attacks against Israel.
Police and the Shin Bet said they now have enough evidence against him.
The Haifa District Attorney's Office is expected to file charges today at the Haifa District Court for contact with a foreign agent.
The agencies said they take any citizen's involvement in acts that threaten national security very seriously and will use every means to stop such threats and bring those behind them to justice.
They also asked the public to stay alert, avoid talking to strangers online and report any suspicious requests.
