This is the Boeing 737 that is tucked away deep in the woods of Oregon in the US and there's something unexpected inside.

 

In a suburban wooded area outside of Portland, Oregon in the US lies a fully-intact Boeing 737.

 

According to Daily Star UK, you can’t see it from the road and it’s not part of a plane wreckage.

 

The aircraft is actually home to Bruce Campbell, an electrical engineer who bought the retired plane.

 

 

Bruce decided to upcycle the aircraft into a home and it is now propped up on concrete pillars in the middle of the woods – and it even has it’s own driveway.

 

The huge three-engine commercial airliner features a makeshift shower but he is still installing a working toilet.

 

“If a conventional home is a legacy age family Chevy or Ford, an airliner home is a fresh new Tesla or Porsche Carrera,” Bruce added. 

 

Bruce is also attempting to restore some of the original interior elements like seating and lights.

 

The retired electrition only spends six months of the year in his plane home, and spends the other half of the year in Japan where he wants to do the same thing with a Boeing 747 fuselage.

 

 

His plane in Oregon is located on 10 acres of woodland which he bought for $23,000 (£18,484) in his 20s.

 

Bruce, who has been living in the plane for 15 years, bought the aircraft for a cool $100,000 (£80,000) and has spent a further $120,000 doing it up.

 

He decided to purchase the plane as part of his mission to save retired jetliners from becoming scrap metal by reusing them.

 

And he was originally going to make a home out of freight vans on his lot but after hearing about someone who had done something similar with a plane, he changed his mind.
