A total of at least 50 people were killed, while others were injured when a suicide bomber detonated his explosive at a mosque in Mubi, Adamawa State, during morning prayers.

During an early morning prayers at the Madina mosque in the Unguwar Shuwa area of Mubi, some 200 kilometres from the Adamawa state capital, Yola, a suicide bomber on Tuesday,
blew himself up where atleast least 50 people were killed.
According to eyewitnesses, suspected suicide bomber around 5:00am during the Muslim early morning prayers carried out the attack.
“I counted 27 dead and 49 injured people as they are being evacuated to the hospital,” said one Mubi resident, who simply identified himself as Danladi.
As at the time of filing this report, there was no immediate claim of responsibility, but the bombing resembled numerous prior suicide attacks carried out by members of the Boko Haram militant group which has killed more than 20,000 people during its 8-year insurgency against the Nigerian government in a bid to create a strict Islamic state in the majority Muslim north.
