The British Police had to rush to a hospital in Rotterdam, Netherlands, to respond to reports of a man threatening the staff with a gun.
According to Daily Star UK, the employees of the plastic surgery clinic in Rotterdam were held up at gunpoint, according to the police.
Police swooped on the Jan Leentvaarlaan building, at Velthuis clinic in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
A doctor was taken hostage, tied up and threatened with a gun.
But the suspect fled and police have launched a manhunt.
The doctor is in hospital for checks but is not believed to be seriously injured.
Witness Luuk saw negotiators arrive with police in bulletproof vests.
He told the Telegraaf: "I happened to cycle past it on my way home from school.
"I saw people coming out of the building. They were crying."
While another eyewitness told RTV Rijnmond: "We heard it was a hostage, a doctor held at gunpoint.
"Someone was also carried out lying down with a blanket over them."
