Shocker: Two Persons Burnt To Death As Bus Catches Fire In Abaji

Two persons have suffered an unbelievably tragic fate after their bus went up in flames on the Abuja-Lokoja road in Abaji.

As many as two persons have been burnt to death after a bus went up in flames on Thursday night at Abaji, on Abuja- Lokoja road.
 
According to a Dailly Trust report, a witness said the incident happened at about 9:00pm when a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number XD 124YAB loaded with tomato lost control and crashed into a concrete drainage.
 
He said the bus went up in flames, burning the driver and a passenger who were trapped in it.
 
The witness said one passenger was rescued but sustained burns and was immediately taken to hospital by men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the area.
 
When contacted, the Abaji unit commander of the FRSC, ACC Olasupo Esuruoso, confirmed the incident, which he attributed to speed limit violation and loss of control.
 
He said the two corpses were taken away for burial by relatives who came from Zaria, Kaduna State, while the injured passenger was taken to Abaji General Hospital.
 
When Daily Trust visited the hospital, a staff said the injured was referred to University of Abuja Teaching Hospital in Gwagwalada.
 
The commander added that a middle aged man, identified as Mohammed was also crushed on the same day in the morning by a motorist.
 
He said the incident happened at about 10:00am when a Kia Cerato car with registration number LKJ 240 MX coming from Lokoja axis crushed the man who was crossing the road.
 
He said the remains of the deceased had been deposited at Abaji General Hospital morgue.
