Ezekwesili Fumes Over President Buhari's Re-election Bid On A Day Fulani-Herdsmen Massacred Over 20 People In Benue State

 

Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has attacked the All Progressives Congress and President Muhammadu Buhari for inaugurating his re-election bid on a day many innocent souls were massacred by murderous Fulani-herdsmen in Benue state.

 

Oby couldn't fathom how Buhari could think of re-election when the people he is supposed to protect are being killed by Fulani-herdsmen and yet nothing is being done to save the lives of helpless community members in Benue.

 

It would be recalled that the Minister of communication, Adebayo Shittu after a closed-door meeting with Buhari told state house correspondents that the President’s ardent supporters would prevail on him to seek re-election.

 

 

Ezekwesili in her reaction queried Buhari’s government over the nonchalant attitude towards the killing of scores of Nigerians in Benue by Fulani herdsmen.

 

On her social media page, she wrote: "Of all days that APC and its stalwarts could ASSAULT our sensibilities with announcement of launch of 2019 re-election bid for President .@MBuhari , they chose yesterday!

 

The murder of at least 20 people in Guma and Logo local government areas of Benue state was confirmed by Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom who begged for help from the Federal Government.
