Some residents in a community in Lagos have narrowly escaped tragic death after a petrol tanker accident in the area.

Photos have showed the community in Lagos State where a tragedy was recently averted.

In the photos, a petrol tanker is seen after it had pulled down an electricity pole while moving on the road.

The photos and the story behind them was shared on Facebook by one Baale Amukoko Mosafejo Oriloye who revealed he is a resident of the community where the incident occurred.

He wrote (sic): "After God no any other mini God. ALLAHU is my God. It happened at my community today at the front of my house.

"Assume I believe in any mini God. Petrol tanker could have torn my community to no where to be found. Thank you God for keeping my redgeem safty..."
