A cute little boy has been poisoned and murdered his own mother, an act which has now gotten her into very serious trouble.

Hannah Turtle admitted murdering and poisoning her baby son James Hughes

Hannah Turtle, a 22-year-old mother now faces years behind bars after pleading guilty to poisoning and murdering her baby son.

According to a report by Daily Star UK, Hannah Turtle sobbed as she dramatically changed her plea midway through her trial over the death of seven-week-old James Hughes.

Turtle, from Shotton, Wales, killed the tot after claiming “voices” told her she was a bad mother.

She changed her plea today, the seventh day of her trial at Mold Crown Court.

She also pleaded guilty to two counts of poisoning and three counts of causing ill treatment or neglect, between May and June 2016.

Turtle has been remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced on Thursday.

The court had previously heard evidence how Turtle confessed to a health worker: "I am a murderer, I killed my baby".

Judge Clive Lewis said a life sentence would be imposed but he needed to decide the minimum term Turtle would serve.

Her defence barrister, Gordon Cole QC said there was relevant psychiatric evidence which would be presented in mitigation during the sentencing hearing.
