Leicester City vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddha-Naprabha has confirmed that the club are going to sign unwanted Manchester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho.

The Foxes have reportedly already agreed a £25m deal for the Super Eagles striker from Manchester City, however, issues concerning his image rights have allegedly stood in City’s way since.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola also confirmed that the 20-year old was set to move at a recent press conference, but he didn’t reveal his destination. The same was the case with Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare, who refused to comment at all.

“Yes, we have interest in him,” Thai businessman Srivaddha-Naprabha was quoted by Foxes of Leicester as saying on Sunday.

“But we have to wait for Manchester City’s stance on this, as they are still in their pre-season as well. If it happens, it will be soon.

“Leicester City’s transfer market is not over yet. We just signed three players and there will be at least one more.”

Srivaddha-Naprabha also spoke about the club’s ambitions for the 2017/18 season and sounded rather optimistic.

He said, “We aim for a top-10 position this season. If we start well in the first half of the season, then we will also expand our focus to cup competitions.”

There have been the arrivals of Harry Maguire, Vicente Iborra and Eldin Jakupovic, but there are more areas that need to be addressed, and the Foxes have to see to that.

Robert Huth’s injury has left Leicester short of quality options at the heart of the defence, whilst their pre-season tour to China has reflected just how much are Shakespeare’s side in need of another central midfielder to add creative flair to the team.
