A pharmacy in Lagos has been called out by a social media user for selling a bottle of hand sanitizer for a whopping N19,950.
The hand sanitizer
A Nigerian has raised alarm after claiming that a pharmacy in Lagos has taken advantage of Nigerians by hiking the price of hand sanitizer after an Italian was confirmed to have tested positive for coronavirus.
Farida Ladipo-Ajayi took to her Facebook page to share the screenshots of the sanitizer and the pharmacy involved.
She wrote:
"So because of Corona virus, Medmark Pharmacy on Adekunle Osomo street Soluyi Gbagada sold this 500 ml sanitizer for N19,950. We didn't notice, got back opened the product then debit alert of N19,950 came in. Took it back and they insist that is the price.
I need to escalate this to whoever it may concern, this is too much"
Her post got immediate reaction from Nigerians who condemned the pharmacy for such an action. As a result, the pharmacy was forced to issue her a refund.
In an updated post, she wrote:
"I have gotten a full refund for the sanitizer. Thank you everyone, thank you FCCPC for taking swift action. I've deleted the post."
