Activist, Aisha Yesufu Named in BBC’s 100 Most Influential Women In The World

BBC has named a Nigerian activist as one of the most influential and inspiring women in the world.

Human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu has been honoured by the BBC.
 
This comes after she made the BBC's list as one of the most influential and inspiring women in the world.
 
This was revealed by the Broadcasting company after making public its list of 100 inspiring and influential women from around the world.
 
According to the BBC, 2020’s 100 Women list “is highlighting those who are leading change and making a difference during these turbulent times.”
 
Aisha Yesufu is a Nigerian activist born in Kano state on December 12, 1974. She is from Edo state but resides in Kano.
 
The co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls movement has been vocal in the fight against injustice, bad governance and human rights violation in Nigeria.
 
Her most recent activism was her contribution in the #EndSARS protest by Nigerians against extra-judicial activities of the now-disbanded SARS unit of the Nigerian Police Force and other forms of police brutality.
 
Other Nigerian women included in the list were; UK-based nurse, Professor Dame Elizabeth Anionwu and Uyaiedu Ipke-Etim, a Nigerian feminist film-maker, among others.
