The All progressive Congress (APC) has kicked against any move by the federal government  to increase the price of petrol.

According to Vanguard, this was made public by the party's Caretaker Committee Secretary, Sen. James Akpanudoedehe on Tuesday in Abuja, at a media interface organised by the APC Professional Forum.

He explained that the party’s position had been accepted by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Akpanudoedehe explained further that the deal was part of the outcome of deliberations by a tripartite committee comprising the leadership of the national assembly and key members of the executive arm.

He said: “The president is a listening president. Once you bring anything before him, he will take it with commitment. Another thing we have achieved which is recently is the issue in the pump price of petroleum. The party said no to it even though they have discussed it. It doesn’t matter the circumstances. The party say the time is not ripe. That is the position of the party. And they listen. We have tabled the matter.”

Akpanudoedehe insist that President Buhari achievements stands out from among those that had administered the country before.

He added: “There have never been a government like this in the history of the nation. And i am not playing politics. Show me any government that has done much than President Buhari that has direct link with the masses.

”If you go to the villages, the camps are full with people taking their 20k from the PWF. Everywhere in Nigeria. People are having accessi. The president has thrown his door open  for everybody. It doesn’t matter which party you belong. In the days of PDP, it was not so. It is either PDP or nothing.

“The President allows everyone to key into his program. As i am talk with you now, people are collecting loans and Covid-19 palliative. Go to the ministry of labour and you will find people collecting 450k to 1 million. And they are not saying anything. Nigerians are enjoying the program. And he is a listening President.

“We thank you the professionals. In the face of difficulties, frustration and in all, you still stand with the party. You still defend the President. Most of the defense in Twitter by you, i have seen them. You are not selfish. There is nothing you do in this life  that the reward is not there. Some other person will be defending the government the way you are doing.

“The membership registration has given you another opportunity again to the end. Dont just say i am defending. Please the election is coming, contest for every available positions in Nigeria as professionals.  We are looking for educated people. Contest for every available positions in Nigeria. At this time, if you dont succeed you will be compensated. You must contest. Women must contest. Disable people must contest. Young professionals must contest.”
