Ebube Agu officials
Stanley Okoro-Emegha, the Ebonyi commissioner for border, peace and internal security has stated that the southeast security outfit, Ebube Agu are doing well in tackling crimes in the state.
Recall that on April 11, South-east governors had unveiled Ebube Agu to improve security in the region.
This disclosure was made on Tuesday by the commissioner while speaking in an interview with NAN in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi state capital.
Okoro-Emegha highlighted the successes recorded by the outfit, and said the agency is committed to safeguarding lives and property in the state.
He added that Ebube Agu works with federal security forces to ensure crime is curtailed in the state.
“The car-snatchers have vowed that the people would not sleep and we would also ensure that they do not sleep,” he said.
“We will know whether the government is pursuing them or they are pursuing the government. At the end, we will know whose strength is greater.
“We arrest more than five armed robbers daily since we commenced operations and duly hand them over to the police for investigation and diligent prosecution.
“We arrested some illegal drug dealers on May 10 and we handed them over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for prosecution."
