Tension As Cultists Give School Principal 24 Hours To Recall Suspended Members

Some cultists have ordered the school principal of Uyo High School, Akwa Ibom to reinstate their suspended members within 24 hours or face the music.

Items believed to be fetish, including fresh pepper, palm oil drops, peeled cooked egg, palm fronds, red cloth, and N10 note, among others, were seen yesterday at the entrance to Mr. Michael Iwok’s office.

Similar items and several inscriptions were also seen at the entrance to Senior Secondary 3 classes.

Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Secondary Education Board (SSEB) Dr. Ekaette Ebong Okon has announced the immediate closure of the school.

The Nation gathered that trouble started when some students suspected to be cultists were recently suspended.

Also aggrieved are some Senior Secondary Two students who could not meet up with the school requirements to be promoted to the next class.

Investigations reveal that on several occasions these two sets of students are responsible for the mayhem in the school.

Police spokesman Odiko MacDon the command had no business in the matter.

”Government close down school, how that one come concern me,” he said in pidgin.
