75-year-old Man Remanded For Allegedly Sodomising Minor

A 75-year-old man identified as Umar Isah has been remanded by a  Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court on Thursday,  for allegedly sodomising a 10-year-old boy.

NAN reports that the Prosecuting Officer, Insp Sunday Baba, while presenting the matter, told the court that Isah committed the offence on July 4 at 1 p.m., at his residence.

Baba, who said the defendant lured the boy into his room and sodomised him, added that Isah confessed to the crime during the investigation.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 259 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017.

Delivering Judgement, Magistrate, Hajara Dauda, who did not take the plea of the accused directed that the case file be forwarded to the state Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.

She adjourned the case until July 13 for further mention.
