Travis Fulton
An MMA fighter popularly known as The Ironman hanged himself in a cell after he admitted to sexually exploiting a child and keeping abuse images.
Travis Fulton, 44, was found unresponsive in his cell in Linn County Jail, Iowa, the US, on Saturday, July 10.
Staff attempted CPR and he was rushed to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Fulton was initially arrested in February and had been in jail since, The Gazette reports.
One of the exploitation incidents took place between June 2013 and April 2020, according to court records.
The other occurred around November 2020, it is claimed.
In one case, Fulton allegedly got a 13-year-old girl to meditate with him before taking off all her clothes except her underwear and performed a s3x act on her, the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports.
He was also accused of taking photographs of the girls.
Fulton initially admitted the meditation but denied that any touching had taken place.
He had agreed to plead guilty to sexually exploiting a child under the age of 18, and possessing child abuse photos.
Fulton also said he’s been accused of r*pe in the past “because people know who he is”.
He had also been charged with punching a woman in the head and threatening to kill her in September 2019 in Black Hawk County, Iowa.
The death is being investigated and an autopsy will be performed.
Fulton began his MMA career in 1996 and participated in a record 320 professional fights.
