Members of the Indigenous people of Biafra stormed the Federal High Court, Abuja to demand the release of their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who was arrested and extradited to Nigeria.
The protest began after Justice Binta Nyakk adjourned hearing in his trial after the DSS failed to produce him in court.
One of the protesting IPOB members, who spoke to the Cable, said they were against the perceived marginalization of Igbos in Nigeria. He said ;
''We are here because of our leader, to know what is going on. What we want is that they should free our leader so they go on with his normal life like every other person because he is not a criminal, because we have not seen him with any gun or bullet.
If you are talking about Nigeria, yes we feel like being with Nigeria but Nigeria is not giving us the space to be with them. So as you reject us a people, then we have to fimd our way because he that is rejected will not reject himself.''
