Haladu Bagu, a former member of the Jigawa State House of Assembly has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
It was gathered that Bagu was kidnapped on Wednesday night on his way from Kano to Jigawa.
Mansur Ahmed, media aide to the former Governor of the state, Sule Lamido, confirmed the development to reporters in Dutse yesterday.
Bagu, a chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is a two-term member, who represented Auyo State Constituency in the state’s House of Assembly between 2007 and 2015.
The Public Relations Officer of the state’s Police Command, ASP Lawan Shisu Adam, confirmed the abduction, saying efforts were on to get him.
He said, “Hon. Haladu Bagu, a former member of the Jigawa State House of Assembly from Auyo LGA, was kidnapped along Kangal junction Taura LGA.”
