Shocking! Couple Perform Voodoo Ceremony Inside Graveyard With Bones of a Dead Person

 

 

A woman and her boyfriend have been arrested after allegedly performing a bizarre voodoo love ceremony with the bones of a corpse.

 

According to Mirror Online, the 37-year-old and her new man, 34, were found moving out of a cemetery at dawn where they were said to be carrying out a macabre ritual to banish all trace of the woman's former lover.

 

After shocked officers found two effigies tied together by a rope, chickpeas, corn and noodles, two plastic cups with rum inside and a half-burned candle, the pair were arrested and been charged with an offence of criminal damage and "lack of respect" for the dead after conducting the ceremony which involved raiding human bones from one of the graves.

 

The strange collection of items were strewn outside a vault which had been broken open and the remains of a corpse removed and the bones thrown about on the ground.

 

Maintenance staff at the cemetery in Alicante, Spain, made the shock discovery when they came into work the next morning and called in the police to investigate the scene of desecration.

 

Police suspected straight away that it had been some sort of ritual and arrested the couple a few days later.

 

The man is alleged to have told them it was a ceremony he performed with his new girlfriend to rid her of the memories of her former husband.

 

He was said to be a follower of "Santeria", an Afro-Caribbean religion based on Yoruba beliefs and traditions that draws on Roman Catholic elements.

 

The couple have since been released by the police on bail pending a court appearance.
