Compensation Over Competence - Nigerians React To Resume Of Designated Minister Of State For Defence, Matawalle

Social media users are reacting to the resume of the former governor of Zamfara state, Bello Matawalle who was recently designated as Minister of State for Defence.

The presidency on Wednesday unveiled the portfolios of the ministers cleared by the Senate to work with President Tinubu, naming Muhammed Badaru as the Minister of Defence and Matawalle as Minister of State for Defence.

The appointment of Mattawalle whose previous role as Governor left Zamfara state as one of the worst hit by terrorist attacks in Nigeria sparked outrage, and disappointment from both Nigerians on social media and residents of the state, with many saying out loudly that the former governor does not fit the new task given to him.

However, in a new development, the emergence of the resume of the new Minister of State for defence designate is causing a fresh stir amongst social media users describing Matawalle as unqualified to handle any portfolio related to defence considering his lack of qualifications and performance as governor.
