Man Hacks His Grandfather To Death Over Alleged Witchcraft In Cross River

A man identified as Enoch Agbaube has been accused of killing his grandfather, John Agbaube, over witchcraft allegations in Cross River State.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Utanga community in Obanliku Local Government Area of the state.

A lawyer, Barr. Paul Idiga said Enoch accused his grandfather of being a wizard and the one behind his misfortunes.

The perpetrator hacked his grandfather to death with a machete, almost beheading him, while he was sitting on his chair outside of his house.

"He accused his grandpa of witchcraft''. ''He said his grandpa is responsible for all his woes and lack of progress,” Idiga said.

Meanwhile, a member of the community, Anungo Felix Ishel, who confirmed the development, said the suspect has been arrested in Benue State where he fled after committing the heinous crime.
