Hilda Baci Reacts As Nigerians Object To Her Immediately Changing Her Bio To Reflect Current Events

Award-winning Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci has reacted to the response she received after she changed her social media bio to reflect current events.

The Nigerian chef, who held the Guinness World Record Holder for longest cooking marathon by an individual, was overthrown by Irish chef, Alan Fisher less than 5 months after she was officially awarded the title.

Hilda graciously congratulated Fisher then removed “Guinness World Record Holder” from her social media accounts bio.

Some Nigerians objected and told her "once a record holder, always a record holder" therefore she did not need to change her bio.

Hilda has now explained that the lady who held the record before her also changed her bio when she overthrew her.

Hilda explained: “Just as Chef Lata respectfully acknowledged the new record holder by updating her bio and later fine tuning the wording I’ve adjusted mine too. Achieving such a record is no small feat, and I know this firsthand. I have only the greatest admiration for the hard work it took for Alan to reach such heights. Sportsmanship is about recognizing progress, whether the accolade is in my bio or not. I remain a record holder in spirit and in history. Let’s celebrate achievement and the spirit of competition.”
