A circulating video on social media depicts an incident where a policeman, purportedly attached to the Ago Iwoye Police Division of the Ogun State Police Command, engaged in s*xual harassment of a female suspect detained at the station.

An X (formerly Twitter) user, Oluwabunmi Michael Awoyemi, @Harwohyehmi1 who posted the video on his handle wrote, “A police officer from Ago Iwoye arrested a lady, instead of doing his job, he told her harassed her and even asked her to kiss him before he leaves her alone.

“This is how much they’ve ridiculed this profession and harassed our students. Set of irresponsible people.”

In the video, the police officer is heard asking the female suspect, “Are you a virgin or you are lying to your boyfriend?” to which the lady said, “I'm not lying.”

Then the police officer asked, “Are you a Christian or Muslim?” and the lady said, “I'm a Christian.”

The policeman went further to ask her if she was pregnant but she said no.

The officer said, “I want to disvirgin your mouth. I want to kiss you before I go out of this place,” but when the lady said no, he ordered her to shut up.

The officer further said, “I want to let you go but I want to disvirgin your mouth. Not that place, your mouth first.”

As the lady continued to plead with him to let her go, he said, “I said I like you,” and the lady said, “Thank you, sir. I like you too.”

The police officer said, “Then kiss me,” but the lady said, “I cannot kiss you.”

Reacting to the video, the Ogun State Police Command asked the victim to send a direct message to the command on the matter to enable them to get full details of the incident.

“The Command is highly interested in this case. Could you please advise the victim to kindly send a DM (Direct Message) to us or send a message to this No 09159578888, so as to have more insights on this issue,” the state police command wrote.
