Operatives from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) conducted raids on the offices of certain Bureau de Change operators in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
Daily Post reports that the EFCC, during the raid, arrested no fewer than twelve operators, with shops in the Sabo area.
Sabo is a community in Ward 6 in Ibadan North local government area and is dominated by northerners.
The source said, “They arrested 12 people. They came around 10-11 am”.
Chairman of the Bureau de change operators, Aminu Ibrahim Babankande confirmed the development to DAILY POST.
Babankande, in a telephone conversation with DAILY POST, Change Operators noted that he is still investigating the number of people arrested.
He said, “I don’t know the number now. We are still investigating.
“We are ready to cooperate with the government “.
