Some masked gunmen hae reportedly kidnapped Tunde Osifowokan, a poultry manager, in Idowa, Ogun State.

He was said to have been kidnapped on Monday afternoon when the community came under the attack of men of the underworld.

The gunmen, who arrived at the poultry in a Gestapo-like manner, shot in the air repeatedly and took Osifowokan away after a few minutes.

The abduction came barely two days after a Hausa farmer in the community was also reportedly kidnapped.

Daily Post reports that the kidnappers, upon arriving at the farm, asked for the whereabouts of the owner of the farm, but since they met the absence of their target, the manager was taken away.

Incidentally, Osifowokan is a sibling of the owner.

Speaking on the development, the Sobaloju of Idowa, Chief Yusuf Olusanya, confirmed the incident.

Chief Olusanya said: “Yes, the incident is true. The hoodlums, according to what I heard, came wearing masks and shooting sporadically. They demanded that the owner of the poultry farm identify himself, but since none of the workers was the owner, they kept quiet.

“However, one of them stood up and when the hoodlums asked him to identify himself, he said he was the younger brother of the owner of the farm. That was how they went away with him.”

He added: “While trying to escape, they shot at one driver in the neck; they riddled his vehicle, which he used in carrying blocks, with bullets.”

Ogun State Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu confirmed the incident, promising that the command will do all within its power to ensure the freedom of the abductee.

He said: “There was a kidnap but only one person was involved and not two; if they were looking for another person, it may not be a kidnap. If the person has not returned home, they should give us another 24 hours before making an official complaint.”
