Suspected Kidnappers Arrested In Adamawa

Two suspected kidnappers, Godwin Ayogo, 32, and David Francis, 33, have been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command, attached to the State Intelligence Department (SID).

The suspects were arrested with SIM cards of various GSM networks and Handsets.

In a statement released, the command's spokesperson, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said recently, the command received a report  on May 28th from one Kinsley Eze a resident of Gurin, in Fufore Local Government Area, that he received several calls from unknown subscribers who threatened to kidnap and kill him unless he paid three million naira (N3,000,000) .

''The Operatives of the Command immediately commenced investigation leading to the arrest of two suspects involved. The apprehended suspects Abuchi Godwin Ayogo 32years and David Francis 33years, both residents of Garin Gidado Village, Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State.

Interestingly, both of them confessed  Committing the Crime adding being part of a notorious kidnapping gang operating in Taraba and Part of Adamawa State. Items so far recovered from the suspects were treated as exhibits.''

Nguroje said the arrest of the two suspected kidnappers underscores the unwavering commitment of the Command in eradicating all forms of criminal activities and instilling confidence in the residents of the state.

He mentioned that the state Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, while assuring that the suspects would be diligently prosecuted, encouraged members of the public to remain vigilant and always provide useful and timely information to security agencies on any suspicious activities in their communities.
