Photo Of Ex-Convict Who Was Nabbed By Police After Parading As Military Personnel In Akwa Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has apprehended a former convict who was found wearing military camouflage attire.
 
The suspect, Eddiong Anthony Matthew, an indigene of Ikot Ekong Village in Mkpat Enin LGA of the state was arrested by operatives on crime prevention patrol on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
 
Spokesperson of the command, ASP Timfon John, who confirmed the arrest in a statement in Uyo on Thursday, said preliminary investigations showed that the suspect was an ex-convict who had been perpetrating a series of crimes in the state in military uniform with a warrant officer rank.
 
Items recovered from him included one walkie-talkie, phones suspected to have been stolen from his victims, a brown coverall dress and an RCC ID Card.

The PPRO said that the suspect would be charged to court as soon as investigations were concluded.
