Libya Police Arrest 3 Undocumented Nigerian, Ghanaian Nationals Over Farm Theft

Libyan police have reportedly apprehended at least three undocumented nationals from Ghana and Nigeria in Al-Khums, a town in the northwestern part of the country.

The suspects were accused of breaking into a farm to steal.

Migrant Rescue Watch on its X handle on Tuesday disclosed that the undocumented nationals apprehended have remained in custody pending referral to public prosecution.

"Libya 10.11.24 - Police in response to citizen's report arrested in Al-Khums 3 undocumented #migrants of Ghanaian and Nigerian nationalities responsible break and enter and theft from a farm. The accused remain in custody pending referral to public prosecution. #migrantcrisis," the post reads.

In October, Libyan police also arrested eight Nigerian nationals and a Libyan driver for attempting to smuggle undocumented migrants into the country.

The Nigerian nationals, comprising seven women and one man, were found in possession of forged Libyan documents.

The arrest was made during a routine security check by the Libyan police, who uncovered the fake documents in Brega.
