Accident Claims Several Lives At Okija Junction In Anambra (Video)

A tragic road accident occurred on Thursday evening at Okija Junction in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, claiming multiple lives.

According to eyewitnesses, the scene was heartbreaking, with several casualties reported.

While authorities have not confirmed the exact number of victims, the incident has left many in shock and mourning. 

Okija Junction, located along the Onitsha-Owerri expressway, is a significant landmark in the region, connecting major towns and cities.

A video clip of the accident scene shared on X handle by @ChuksEricE shows tens of people lamenting the tragic loss of lives. 

The footage shows a wrecked Toyota Hiace, typically used to carry 18 passengers, resting atop a road bridge.

When contacted, the Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Margaret Onabe, confirmed the accident but said she was waiting for clearance from her boss to release a statement on the tragic incident.

"Yes, there was a fatal accident yesterday. I have written a report on that but awaiting my boss approval," she said.
