Sani expressed fears that the tax policy by the FCT on Television sets and other household appliances may soon spread to other states.

A former senator, Shehu Sani has lamented over new tax on domestic appliances by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Administration.
In a post on X on Wednesday, he revealed that the FCT will soon start taxing residents on Television sets and other household appliances.
In a post on X, he wrote:
“Now that the FCT Councils will start collecting taxes for TVs and other domestic appliances, it will soon spread to the states."
Meanwhile, in August, the Abuja tenement office began implementation of the tax on said devices and charged all households a uniform rate of N66,000, being the fee for the use of TVs, radio and other home electronics.
