Suspected Thief Brutally Beaten By Residents For Attempted Transformer Cable Theft In Abuja (Photo)

The thief, whose two legs were broken, publicly confessed to the residents for trying to steal cables from one of the transformers along Usman Sariki Crescent.

Residents of the Utako district in Abuja apprehended and severely beat a suspected thief along Usman Sariki Crescent, near the Residency Hotel, after he allegedly attempted to steal armored cables from a transformer.

According to Daily Post, it was gathered that the incident happened around 5 a.m on Thursday.

The thief, whose two legs were broken, publicly confessed to the residents for trying to steal cables from one of the transformers along Usman Sariki Crescent.

Speaking to Daily Post, a security personnel, Cletus Yusuf, who was present when the thief was caught, explained what happened.

He said, “Around 5 a.m. early this morning, people around the residence apprehended the thief.

“He was caught trying to steal some cables from the transformer around the area.

“He was brutally beaten and injured by the people living in the environment and they also broke his legs and left him by the roadside.”


As of the time of filing this report, DAILY POST observed that no personnel of the Nigeria Police Force in the Utako police division have yet come to the scene of the incident.
