Scores Feared Dead As Boat Carrying Nigerians Fleeing Bandits’ Attack Capsizes

Several unsuspecting residents of Sokoto State have reportedly lost their lives while fleeing attacks by suspected bandits.

The boat carrying the victims reportedly struck a culvert and capsized, leading to casualties.

According to Daily Trust, the ugly incident occurred on Thursday night when the trouble makers launched attacks on their victims.

Details of the incident could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.

However, it was gathered that rescue efforts are currently underway as authorities work to assess the full extent of the casualties.

A similar incident occurred in the Shagari Local Government Area of the state on August 29 when a boat capsized leaving many passengers missing.

Similarly, on August 18, another boat accident occurred in the state claimed at least three lives and left over 20 missing.
