Algeria winger Riyad Mahrez has announced his retirement from international football.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Mahrez confirmed the decision in a television interview with a sports broadcaster.
The announcement comes after Switzerland defeated Algeria 2-0 in their World Cup Round of 32 fixture today.
Mahrez leaves the Algeria national team with a record of 40 goals and 45 assists across 119 caps.
The 35-year-old played a key role in Algeria's 2019 Africa Cup of Nations triumph, helping the Desert Warriors clinch their second continental title.
He is now expected to shift his focus entirely to club football.
The former Manchester City star currently plays for Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli.
