APC Needs Wike More Than Wike Needs APC, Jibrin Declares

A House of Representatives member, Abdulmumin Jibrin, says the APC needs Nyesom Wike more than Wike needs the party.

Jibrin represents Kiru/Bebeji in Kano State.

He's urging APC governors to negotiate with Wike instead of pushing him away.

If Wike leaves the party, other political groups will recruit him because he remains influential regardless of whether he holds office.

Wike has remained relevant to the APC and contributed significantly to the party's political interests since the 2023 presidential election.

Someone like Wike will always be in demand, Jibrin said.

Even when out of office, he stays powerful.

"The APC needs Wike much more than he needs us," Jibrin said.

President Tinubu negotiated with Wike and brought him into the administration after 2023.

If that hadn't happened, there would have been a Rainbow Coalition against the APC.

That's why governors need to do the same.

Some governors have publicly confronted Wike, which Jibrin says is wrong. Negotiations work better.

Each state's situation is different and needs a pragmatic approach.

Jibrin criticized the approach of press conferences attacking Wike.

There's nothing wrong with discussing things with him instead.

His intervention is motivated by concern for the APC's chances in 2027.

Anything that could threaten the president's re-election, he will address.
