Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo says he is confident that President Bola Tinubu will win a second term.
He called on progressive political groups across the country to come together behind the president.
Soludo made the remarks in Abuja on Wednesday at the inauguration of the APC presidential campaign council.
He spoke to Tinubu and members of the All Progressives Alliance Africa and declared his support for the president's economic reform agenda and his vision for national development.
He said his support was guided by three principles: national unity, security and shared prosperity.
He described Tinubu as a leader who represents the three pillars Nigeria needs for its present and future.
Soludo also urged all progressives to unite and said the country cannot afford to miss this chance to build the new Nigeria people dream of.
He said he believes the question is no longer whether Tinubu will get a second term but when.
He added that a second term would give the government room to speed up its reforms.
On the reforms, Soludo admitted the path has been hard but said it is necessary, and he urged the president to stay the course.
He described the next phase as a move toward what he called pragmatic progressiveness, which he said Nigeria must firmly establish.
Reaffirming his support, Soludo told the president that he is with him.
