Reports say that a group of operatives of the State Security Services on Friday evening searched the Abuja home of Bello Fadile, a close confidant of former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
Dasuki and Fadipe, also a retired colonel, were in the former’s house when the SSS officials raided Dasuki's residence.
They were placed under house arrest by the operatives on Thursday and released Friday.
A security source informed Premium Times that after the arrest order on Dasuki was lifted, the operatives drove Fadile in one of their vehicles, after which they proceeded to his home to search.
Fadile was the director in charge of special duties when Dasuki was the NSA.
Another source revealed that, “after searching the house, they took away a computer hard drive from Fadile’s personal computer and promised to return it as soon as they are through with it”.
It is not clear what the SSS is looking for in Fadile’s home or what he is being investigated for.
Meanwhile, Dasuki has reacted to his ordeal in the hands of the SSS operatives, describing their conduct as a mere witch-hunt.
The PDP has also described the action of the SSS as a violation of the rights of the former NSA and contrary to the constitution of the country and the tenets of democracy
In a similar vein, Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose, has described Dasuki’s arrest as a sign of dictatorship.
