Air Peace Crew Member Exposes Fake Identity Scam Targeting Fans With Million Naira Fraud

A routine conversation in the sky took a shocking turn when a well-known cabin crew member discovered that her identity had allegedly been stolen and used in an online deception she knew nothing about.

An Air Peace cabin crew member, Chidimma Okeke, has raised the alarm over an ongoing impersonation scam in which a fraudster is using her name and photos to deceive people into sending money.

The incident came to her attention in an unexpected way while on duty, a frequent flyer she knew approached her to ask about her birthday celebration the previous month.

Confused, Chidimma told him her birthday is in October, not April, and initially assumed he had mixed her up with someone else. However, the situation took a more alarming turn when the passenger showed her a conversation he had with someone posing as her online.

The impersonator had told the man about a supposed birthday celebration and convinced him to send the sum of one million naira as a gift a transaction the passenger confirmed with clear evidence.

Chidimma expressed deep distress over the development, emphasizing how hard she has worked to build her reputation, only for an unknown fraudster to exploit her identity for financial gain at the expense of innocent people.

She has since gone public with the information to warn her followers and the general public to be vigilant and verify the identity of anyone they interact with online, particularly before making any financial transfers based on such conversations.
