President Tinubu Meets Akpabio in Abuja as APC Campaign Launch Nears

President Bola Tinubu met Senate President Godswill Akpabio for about an hour at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday.

The meeting was held behind closed doors, and the reason for it has not been made public.

It took place two days before the APC formally launches its presidential campaign in Kaduna on Saturday, October 24.

The party's national chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, said on Tuesday that preparations were complete.

Akpabio is listed as Deputy Director General (South) of the campaign council, which Tinubu chairs.

Former Zamfara governor Abdulaziz Yari is the Director General.

The council was inaugurated on October 14.

The meeting came shortly after Tinubu asked the Senate to speed up confirmation of new INEC commissioners he had named.

The Presidency also said it would send the National Policing Bill to the National Assembly by October 29.
