D'Banj Dedicates #MAMA2015 Evolution Award to Don Jazzy (Photos)

When they were together under the defunct Mo'Hits Records, D'banj and Don Jazzy had a working chemistry that was unrivaled on the African continent. That 'chemistry' gave birth to some of the most popular and commercial-hit tunes that Nigerians and indeed, Africans would ever hear in a long time.

 

Somewhere along the line, they 'broke up', with each going on to set up their individual record labels - Mavin Records and DB Records. And individually, they've remained relevant too.

Their musical relevance came to the fore again last night at the Durban International Convention Centre, venue of the 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards, where Don Jazzy's Mavin clinched 'Song of the Year' and D'banj took home the MAMA Evolution Award.

While receiving his award, D'banj created a special moment that later became the talk of the night by dedicating it to his ertswhile partner, Don Jazzy.

Other equally deserving superstars nominated in this special category include P-Square, 2face, Asa, Fally Ipupa, Jose Chameleone, HHP, Samini, Black Coffee and Anselmo Ralph.

The duo later took a photo backstage with the Award and momemnts later, Don Jazzy gave a shout-out to D'banj on Twitter.

The industry misses these two superstars working together!
