Singer/Songwriter, Harrison Tare Okiri, popularly known as Harrysong, put the past behind as he reconciled with his step mum, Mrs. Tonye Okiri during his father’s burial in Warri, Delta State on Saturday.

Before the burial proper, which turned out to be a carnival of sorts, elders of the Okiri family called a family meeting with Harrysong and Mrs. Okiri in attendance where they were both advised to let bygones be bygone.

It would be recalled that in his hit single titled 'story', the Five Star Music act narrated some of the unpleasant experiences he passed through in the hands of his step mum.

However, to show that the reconciliation was genuine, the singer during his performance at the burial ceremony, sang a special rendition of the song to the delight of his kinsmen and the crowd in attendance.

This time, rather than sing that his step mum showed him "pepper" when he was younger, Harry sang that she showed him love.

Explaining the reason why he re-wrote the song, Harry said:

"I sang the earlier version of this song out of anger, but today, I have assumed the position of a father and a husband since my father is no more and I have realized that my step mom actually used those extreme correctional measures because she loves me and because I have released my mistake, I’m doing this version of the song to tell the world how much she loves me".

Mrs. Okiri, who was full of tears all through the performance at the family meeting, also apologized to Harrysong for treating him badly in the past.

Meanwhile, the singer gave fans in his hometown of Ogbe Ijoh an unforgettable experience as he performed some of his hit songs alongside his record label boss, Kcee, the Limpopo master, who didn’t disappoint the massive crowd as they cheered, sang along and danced with him.
