While speaking at the floor of the Nigerian Senate on Thursday, embattled Kogi West senator, Dino Melaye, accused President Muhammadu Buhari of making derogatory statements about him and the National Assembly.
According to PREMIUM Times, the influential politician was reacting to a statement credited to Buhari where the president accused the National Assembly of indolence.
Dino Melaye described Buhari’s statement as “unpresidential” and “unconstitutional.”
He said; “He said that some of us have been in there and he doesn’t know what we are doing. Such derogatory statement and insult on the National Assembly should not be allowed to go unnoticed.”
The chieftain of the ruling All progressive Congress, also presented a copy of the statement in a compact disc to the National Assembly, and called on the President to apologize to the lawmakers over the derogatory statement.
