Lauretta Onochie who is President Muhammadu Buhari's social media aide has been caught peddling fake news to launder the image of her principal via Twitter.

Lauretta Onochie has been accused of misinforming Nigerians on social media about the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The controversial woman today - 20th of September, 2018 via Twitter shared a picture of an ongoing road construction project and captioned it, "Nasarawa - Jos Road BUHARI AGAIN!!! Sai Baba"

This ostensibly indicates the progress of the alleged road project within the Nasarawa-Jos axis.

Checks by Tori News have revealed that the news is false. The picture originally belongs to istockphoto.com and was uploaded for sale at the cost of $12.

The image was originally uploaded on November 19, 2015 on the platform and it has no connection whatsoever with Nigeria. It has also been used on other business platforms online for illustrative purposes.

Her followers on Twitter have also been attacking the social media aide who has refused to either debunk the news or take it down.
