Police Officers Deployed By IGP For Guber Election Depart Osun (Photos)

Security operatives who participated in the Osun State governorship election are gradually withdrawing from the state after overseeing the electoral process.

With Osun State assignment over and in conformity with the directives of IGP Ibrahim K Idris, to ensure peace before, during and after the gubernatorial election, a segment of the team departs Osogbo today, with the full pride of complete fulfilment.
 
It must be recalled that ahead of the Osun state governorship election on September 22, 2018, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris deployed a Deputy Inspector General of Police,  an Assistant Inspector General of Police, eight Commissioners, other police officers and two helicopters. Each of the eight Police Area Commands in Osun state will be manned by a Commissioner of Police.
 
The DIG operations led, implemented and coordinated the security operations, and also supervised the deployment of all personnel of other security agencies under the Inter Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) for the election throughout the 3,764 Polling units/voting points in the 332 Wards and the 30 LGAs of the State.
