Overjoyed homeless persons were surprised when the Pope visited them unannounced.

According to the Vatican, about 30 persons living in a shelter for the homeless opened last week near St. Peter's Square were given a lifetime surprise when Pope Francis paid them an unscheduled visit.
The Vatican revealed that the Pope stopped by late Thursday on his way from a summit.
According to the statement: “The pope chatted amiably for about 20 minutes with the guests, who were visibly moved and happy for his visit,”
The shelter for the homeless was opened on Oct. 7 and run by the Pope's personal charity department. It is an all-male shelter home. The Pope also has a barbershop and showers for the homeless who live near St. Peter's run by his personal charity department.
The amiable Pope is well known as an advocate for the destitute an has started many outreach programmes to benefit the less-privileged and homeless people. He also organizes private tours, concerts and dining opportunities for the homeless.
