A teenage boy have found himself on the wrong side of the law after he was found out to have sexually assaulted a fellow student.

A 15-year-old student of Osadenis Mix Secondary School in Asaba, has been arrested by the police for allegedly raping his 14-year-old schoolmate.

The rape victim was reportedly accosted by the suspect and two other students, after she went to back of the school to urinate on Monday November 4. Her cries reportedly attracted students and teachers to the scene of the incident.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Onome Onovwakpoyeya who confirmed the incident said policemen from ‘B’ Division in Asaba were only able to arrest only one of the suspects as the other two escaped.

It was further learnt that the parents of the rape victim are having a cold feet in pushing for prosecution of the suspect as they are reportedly looking for an out-of-court settlement.
