Music producer and artiste manager, Soso Soberekon was seen in a video playing with a lion in his home.
In the video, the popular figure in the entertainment Industry could be heard saying he is daddy to the growing lion, which seems to recognize him as the owner.
This would not be the 1st time a Nigerian entertainer would be seen with a wild carnivorous animal. Months back, singer Runtown announced he just purchased a white cub and wanted his followers to help him with a name.
Owning wild pets is becoming a trend among the elites in Nigeria, and it is not certain if there is any law supporting that. If you recollect, a lion was retrieved from a resident on the Victoria Island in Lagos.
The wild pet was seized from an Indian national residing in the country, and later relocated to the Lekki Zoo
According to Yinka Egbeyemi, the Lagos state environment and special offense task force chairman, the two-year-old cub was being used as a security guard by the owner.
He said the owner of the lion cub had also been invited for questioning.
He assured residents that the owner of the lion “will face the full wrath of the law”, warning residents to desist from keeping wild animals that endanger the lives of others.
