Police Arrest Man Who Tried to Rape a 62-year-old Woman (Photos)

 

A man who has been on the run after trying to rape a 62-year-old woman in an apartment building in Manhattan has been arrested by the police while urinating on the street.

 

 

Police said that the 62-year-old woman identified the suspect as 31-year-old Rubicel Sanchez, who is homeless, after he approached her and tried to rape her. The rapist fled after the woman fought back.

 

Police had earlier released a surveillance video of the suspect, who was seen wearing a black leather jacket with a Batman symbol on it.

 

 

Officers Daniel Roth and Frank Faber spotted Sanchez urinating on the street near 62 East Broadway. They placed him under arrest, police said.  Sanchez was charged with attempted rape, burglary and sex abuse, officials said. His arraignment was pending Saturday.
