President Bola Tinubu has reappointed Dr Bala Bila as a National Commissioner of INEC.
He has also nominated six other people to fill empty seats at the electoral body.
Four of the nominees are National Commissioners and two are Resident Electoral Commissioners.
Some serving officials have reached the end of their terms, which is why the seats are now open.
Presidential aide Bayo Onanuga announced this in a statement on Friday.
The Senate will screen all the nominees before they can take up the roles.
Professor Mustapha Aliu will replace Professor Abdullahi Zuru as the North West representative.
Bashir Muhammed Umar will take over from Professor Muhammad Adamu for the North Central.
Mrs Oluwatoyin Babalola, who is currently the REC in Osun State, has been picked for the South West.
She will replace Professor Cornelius Ajayi, whose term ends on October 24.
For the REC seats, Dr Samuel Akinjide Akinleye, a retired permanent secretary, is set for Ekiti State.
Zahradden Basiru Sanusi from Jigawa State will replace Professor Saidu Ahmed Babura.
Tinubu has asked the Senate to move fast on the confirmations.
He wants the seats filled before the general elections in January next year.
