Farmer Stunned As Pig Delivers Siamese Piglets Conjoined at the Stomach (Video)

 

A pig gave birth to 20 piglets, however, a farmer in China identified simply as Gong noticed two of the newborns were strangely close together.

 

A video shows the black Siamese piglets shows joined at the stomach, lying alongside their mother and newborn siblings.

 

"Raising pigs for so many years, this is the first time I've seen this," the farmer told Sina .

 

The pigs are not expected to survive for long, however, given they way they are connected makes it difficult for them to eat and excercise.

 

The phenomenon of conjoined twins is extremely rare. It is believed to be caused when a fertilized egg only partially splits, forming two seperate embryos that are still joined together in some form.
